although the 1964-65 basketball season was disappointing in the won-loss column, the team ex- hibited the spirit, hustle and desire that characterizes the college teams. it was a long season for the owls. two-thirds through the schedule the blue could boast only one victory, over st. mary's, 91 to 59. the owls were a one half ball team the rest of the way. able to hold the rival hoopsters in the first half they would falter in the second, or 20 buckets down at the half buzzer they would drive to within two or three at the final horn. bill buck was the big scorer in the first half of the loop schedule averaging double figures in every game. at mid- semester the addition of tom prim, stu ward, and nelson gilmer gave the owls new punch. ron cole and terry ireland were tOugh under the boards all year. basketball 30
