Those at Vernon. during their freshman year, chose Nary Anne Young and Page Boyer, presidentsg Mary Jane Brown, vice-presidentp John Imbody, secre- tary, and Bette Bronson, treasurer, while the Central group elected Robert Stout, president g Elaine Strawser, vice- presidentg Margaret Vance, secretary, and Fred VVarner, treasurer. Both classes were active in athletics. The Vernon basketball team, coached by Mr. Alwyn Crane won the city's Junior High school championship. During the year Central presented two plays, Who Says Can,t , and Orange Colored Necktie while the class at Vernon gave Oh Didnit It Rain. As sophomores, the class elected VVilfred Staker, presidentg Elaine Strawser, vice-presidentg Jeannette Ammann, secretaryg and Margaret Vance, treasurer. They were repre- sented in debate and on the football and basketball teams.
