Strangely mixed are the feelings of the seniors, the class responsible each year for the Quiver. Here in this volume are the records of their achievements, their teachers, their classmates. Here is their treasure of memories, and as they turn its pages and ponder on its meaning there are mingled feeling of intense joy and tender sorrow--joy in the past three years at Harding, sorrow that it is so nearly over. However, knowing that progress means change, and that life in the world outside the walls of Harding is just be- ginning for them, they face the future courageously and triumphantly. The Juniors are indeed the happy ones, for they have passed through the trying period of adjustment which comes to Sophomores, and they do not have the pangs of sadness which the Seniors feel at leaving high school. The momentous problem for them is-how to plan the most delightful prom possible with as little extravagance as possible. The glorious records of the Senior class are ever before them and they must strive mightily in debates, athletics, music, and drama to uphold the honor of their class. From Vernon Heights and Central Junior High they came to begin a new life at Harding High. Strange faces, new names, the self assurance of the Juniors and Seniors awed them at first. Soon, however, the strangeness wore off, and they felt at home-no longer strangers but a part of high school life. June finds them with the past year only a memory and in their hearts and mind, dreams of their future in Harding High School. 17'
