When Central Junior High was the first Marion High School, Mr. Marshall was principal. His first graduating class numbered 47. Times have changed and through efficient management, improvement of conditions, and enlargement of opportunities the class of '34 totals 257, To each student in trouble and triumph Mr. Marshall's encouraging advice made the rough spots smooth and left a happy memory of high school days. Through the cooperation of Mr. Marshall, faculty, and students, Harding High School, originally built for 800 now accommodates 970 in contentment and order. K. H. MARSHALL 11

I GEORGE BOWMAN During the last few years when everything, including the schools, was sunk in the mire of depression, Mr. Bowman, the superintendent of the Marion Public Schools, successfully kept Harding High available to those who wished to advance. The task has not been and is not an easy one. Finances proved difhcult to balance but with the interests of each stu- dent at heart, the obstacles were overcome. Not yet is the danger of closed doors gone. As the students of Harding High pass into the world of men and women, may the intelli- gent interests of each and all make the task of Mr. Bowman easier and the future more secure. 10 l L iggwg l
