TUCKER, JR., BA, Vice President for Finance and Business Manager, directed the fund drive among business men of Searcy in Phase III of the Development Program where more than S550,000 was pledged. He was a member in the Searcy Chamber of Commerce, in the Searcy Kiwanis Club, and in the Searcy Federal Savings and Loan Association. Tucker supervised the renovation of the Old Science Building and the construction of the new Gymnasium- Physical Education Center. During the year, he also made a number of trips to Dallas, Washington, and other cities to visit various foundations and govern- ment offices. 1. Dr. Carr finishes development of Nursing Program JAMES F. CARR, JR., EdD, as Assistant to the President, served on many committees and had major responsibility for finding ways to improve communications throughout the College. Development of the Nursing Program was a major project that he completed in 1974-75, obtaining a grant of S124,000 from the Depart- ment of Health, Education, and Welfare to assist in the implementation of this program. Apart from his administrative duties Carr served on the Governor's Com- mission on Employment of the Han- dicapped, the Health Council of the White River Planning and Develop- ment District, and the Board of the Sunshine School. 1. QQ Development office sets Phase III goal for S12 million C. FLOYD DANIEL, BA, Vice President for Development, directed the overall activities of Phase III of the Development Program with a goal of S12,000,000. In November, a phonothon among alumni raised more than Sl,000,000 pledged over a five- year period. He worked closely with members of the President's Development Council in recruiting and developing supporters for Harding College. Daniel served as a member of the board of directors of Camp Wyldewood, as a fund-raising con- sultant ot the Paragould Children's Home, and as president of Christian Service Committee. He was appointed a deacon in the College church of Christ in the fall. 1., E?CCITEDLY, Floyd Daniel relates Har- dlflQS future plans of expansion. 2.
