--4.. EDUCATION NCATE examiners approve teacher education program During the year 1970-71 a seIf-study was conducted by the faculty of the teacher education program. As a result of the 224-page survey report, and a visit on campus by an examining team from the National Council for Ac- creditation of Teacher Education, Har- ding was re-accredited for its bacca- laureate program for the preparation of elementary and secondary teachers. The growing number of majors in this field made use of the services in the educational media center which was moved to the new section of the library. Achievements among faculty mem- bers of this department Were numerous. Dr. Royse, Dr. Barnes, Dr. Coker, and Dr. SeWell were all selected to be in- cluded in the 1971 edition of Outstand- ing Educators of Anmrt'ca, and Betty Watson was recognized among the Out- standing Young Women of America DURING supervised teochtng, Linda Kuhl finds playground duty to be enjoyabie.
