IZ'I The foundation of our modern society is education. Without it, civilization as we know it would crumble. With it, each generation can build on the ones preced- ing1 assimilating the newly-won knowledge and cata- loging it for present and future use. And knowledge will be used. If not at the moment it is discovered, then it will be transmitted to others who will find a need for it. This transmission of know- ledge e- and the way it can be useful a is important in education. By far the most vital and delicate aspect of education, though, is the training and develop- ing of character. All knowledge, even with the ability to apply it1 is incomplete without consideration of what is good, what is beautiful, and what is true. The way we look at these considerations is our perspective.
