MARCH or TIME PRESENTS CZSSQS The March of Time brings innovations, alterations, and additions to the chain of events which constitutes the un- ending era of man's march toward his goal of unlimited self- lmprovement and betterment For the advancement of man, society has been introduced to such marked changes as Science has startled the world with the destructive potentiallties of Atomic Energy Religionlsts and peace lovers are striving to demon- strate the possibilities of Atomic Energy for Industry and Commerce rather than its destructive capacities under the War Dictator, Mar Medicine has increased the span of life beyond the bounds of three score years through the discovery of new drugs, new operative techniques, and better nursing skills. World Society is enjoying a peaceful breathing spell from a decade of war-monger rule---we hope it ls a permanent one. These and many other indications reveal the March of Time, even in the curriculum of our high school. This year, we find the addition of four units of Vocational Agricul- ture, two units of Latin as well as an 'On the Farm Trainingn for Veterans of World War II---an Adult Education project. Surely but irrefutably, our local curriculum must meet the needs of the Presentg the Pastg and the Future--thus, TIM MARCHES ON. IN VARIOUS DEPARTMENTS e n-.. CH MISTRY Chemistry is the science which deals with the composition of materials and the changes those materials undergo. Experimenting mrkes up a large part of this course, and enables us to 'learn by doing. I0
