During November when the levies were trying to he passed. many students sent editorials In to the Star Beacon. Barb Dawson, 2: student at the Vo-ed school, wmte this editorial that appeared in the paper October 30: Many pcuple 'dl'C against the Vo-lid school Rumors say we all just 1001 around. and donll learn anything. llm writing to say that these tumors are wrong. Dead wrong. The Vo-Ed school is full of kids who want to learn, We have fun learning. It the students dont want to work. they don't belong at the Voalid. The reason I think we learn so much is because they treat us like adults. The best thing about the Vo-Ed school is the courses they offer Courses you cant receive at the home schools. Courses such as auto mccltanicst carpentry, elec- tronics. cosmetology. and data processing. Skills that help to build the community. ldon't believe you could find those courses at the home schools. Matty people are knocking the Vo-Ed clue to the ugly rumors going around. Really. illynu stop to think, huw many rumors are ever true? Many people have never been to the Voelid. llm sure that ill people would come out. see the classe roomst and meet the students, they would find out the hue story. The reason l know about this school is because this is my second year here, and lwouldn't trade those two years for any- thing. Please keep an open mind on the sub. n ject. PULLING Tllli PLUG?
