THE CAMP FIRE GIRLS The Camp Fire Girls is all international organization with local groups called Camp Fires. To show the purposi- of this organization we tan do no lzetter than quote our Camp Fire Book. 'The purpose of this organizatinn is to perpetu- ate the spiritual ideals of the, hnme under the new cuntlitiuns 01' a social community. The specific ways hy which it aims at this is: to show that the common things 01' daily life are the chief means of heanty, romance and adventure; to devise ways of measuring and creating standards uli woman's work: to help girls to serve the crnnmunity; to aid in the forming of haliits making for health and tiger, the Ullt-Hf-tlfml' habit and the uut-tlmn' spiritf' lleznls are conferred l'ur winning.r honors. There are three ranks which a girl may attaine tll Woml-Galherel'; tZl Fire-Mukei'; Ml Torch-Bearer. Our local organizzitinn was organized in November with twenty-two girls of the Senior class. Subjects were discuss- ed at the meetings. which carried nut the purpose of the Camp Fire. The counts of the previous meetings were sometimes written in rhyme. Then with ever invreaxing volume the VVnheln cheer was given, Then rang out upon the stillness Our beloved sjnud-nig'ht sung As we parted with the purpuse Tu help right this old wui'hl's wmngs. The Camp Fire Dresxes are worn at each council meet- ing. At one of the meetings the girls hntl the pleasure of hearing Dr. Mary Battles. The girls expect to take a course in the next few meetings in The First Aid to the Injured. Each girl has attained the rnak ot' xi'tmtl-gatherer. for which she will receive the Wiootl-Gatherer's ring. A camping trip is being planned for the week following: the clnse of school. While. on the trip the girls will spend a couple of hours each day in nature study.
