Dear Senior Class of 1948
Remember when we used to sit in room I7 and gaze out the window overlooking
the Buffalo Mountains we each one tried to picture ourselves in the coming future
Well here is my account of that wonderful class of ours back in T947 48
Emma Jean Collins announces for the ever popular Radio Hall of Fame In New
York City after announcing at our local station WBEJ for four years
Elmer Fisher the boy we all loved is President of the Moody Bible Institute in
Chicago We all knew Elmer would succeed
Mary Belle Hood the girl with the very long eyelashes now poses for Maybelline
Mascara on many of our leading magazines covers
Joe Treadway who was center forward on the Notre Dame basketball team and
also made the All American team is now head coach at UCLA
Ruth Wiseman is glad she took her shorthand seriously She is now working for the
president of the railroads Mr Harold Dean Hyder
Mary Frances Clark is teaching mathematics at the University of Tennessee We all
know she is a good teacher as well as a beautiful one
Lovable Margaret Head is secretary to James Burleson who is a Lawyer in Reno
Claude Emmert was recently appointed to the Senate of the U S He is now serving
his time at the White House His wife June Buck has really changed him into a serious
minded young man
Lela Ruth Hyder plays the piano at the Stork Club Her husband Charles Edens is
Master of Ceremonies and Bob Crowe is leading vocal man All we can say is Nice
Evelyn Love and Shirley Rowe have really gone far in the music world They are
now members of Evelyn Knights All Girl Orchestra
Roy Acuff and his band at the Grand Ole Opry in Nashville
Marcella Carter is the Fat Mans leading lady in his radio dramas lncidentally
the man who portrays the Fat Man is William Osborne
Jim Dykes has taken over the comic strip Joe Palooka and is now a millionaire
living in Beverley Hills His new maid is Dorothy Henegar
Beatrice Byrd is now fashion editor for Charm Magazine and Beryl Hendrix is chief
advisor on all the new fashions any way Beryl always did like good figures
Gene Sheperd is now chief cook on the new Freedom Train and his supervisor IS
Tony Meredith is now a skilled surgeon at John Hopkins Hospital He recently
married nurse Evelyn Carden
Roy Gene Meredith has really climbed the ladder of success He is musical director
for the Corn Cobblers show
Billy Lewis was recently appointed as chief advisor to our president he is also a
member of the Supreme Court
Dorothy Elrod is script writer for the movie producer Cecil B DeMille They lust
finished a picture called The Life of Opal West , starring in the main role is Ruby Buck
