STURGESS Football l,2,3,4 Mixed Chorus 1,2,3,4 Lettermans Club 2 Annual Staff A Glass Pres 2 Baseball 4 eniord The Senior class of 1950-51 was organized under the advisorship of M Lazenb, and Miss Gorman Lucille Reinke was elected to steer the class through their last year. Second mate was Lorraine Kuehl, while Elna Melcher was keeper of the log. Counting up the dues was Lois Muehler. Donald Werner and Carole Scheller were elected to leg- islate for the class in Student Council. Donna Krump and Carole Scheller were chosen as attendants to the homecoming queen. We sponsored the annual homecoming party and also the Christman party. In spring we produced the mystery comedy, nThe Sixth Keyn. Our carnival queen candidate, Lucille Reinke, reigned over the carnival festivities and earned as a day off. Donald Horner, Paul Bladow, and Jack Sturgess again showed their talenton the football field and Donald Worner, Paul Bladow, and Howard Johnson proved to be basketball stars.

CIW 714-127 This class of eighteen greeted, Miss Phyllls Wilson, our first grade teacheron Sept 5, 1939 They were David Bellin, Samuel Dering, Delores Franze,Paul Bladow, Carole Jaeger, Robert Johnson, Wilma Korth, Dorothy Korth, Virgil Krause, Paul Kretchman, Elna Melcher, Darcey Miller, Milo Popp, Carole Scheller, John Siefken, James Tix, Dennis Wellman, and Donald Worner We were in for a real surprise the second year when we found out we gained thirteen new students The reason was partly because that year a new school bus was added to transport the children from Manta- dor and the vicinity to Hankinson The new students were: Richard Bell, Marlys Bladow, Alvin Gast, Donn Glock, Donna. Krump, Ahcln Krump, Merlin Medenwaldt, Delores Reeder, Marilyn Schultz, Ronald Tiegs, Carl Wellman, Lloyd Marohl, and Richard Biel This year Samuel Derlng, Delores Franze, Robert Johnson, and Dennis Wellman left Miss Ruby Susag was our teacher The second grade provedto be a great success so with seven losses and seven gaines we started our third year with twenty seven pupils Miss Marcia Lyman was our teacher In 1941, twenty three students enrolledin the fourth grade This wasthe first year we had two teachers--Dorothy Skovholt and Leah Simp- Wallman, Jessie Ostby, and LeRoy Ostby left our class but, we gained Bobby Dering, wenden Hugs, and Marinyn Schultz In our fifth gade we had as our teacher Mildred Ecdman Leo Jenson, LeRoy Jenson, and Edward Johnson registered as ournew classmates. Three monthsand some days later school opened again Inthe sixth grade Avis Allowya, Howard Johnson and Ronald Tiegs added to our 11st while Edward Jofmsonand Wilma Korth left us Leaving a total of eigh- teen pupils Everyonewas excited about enteringthe Juniorhi roomthe next year. Miss Kenyon opened the doors to fifteen seventh graders Avis nloway, M61-nn Meaenwalat, and Ronald megs left The students wok part in the Glee Club and Band. Coming back to the same room the next year we finished our last year in grade school We found our class was still decreasing Elna Melcher,John Siefken, Leo Jenson, LeRoy Jensonand Marilyn Schultz were our classmates who left us We gained Orville Reeder, Gerald Lenz, and Karmen Krause On May 18, 1947 thirteen pupils received their dipolmas.
