.Presidlemt Holland. LETTER FROM THE PRESIDENT I Dear Seniors: It is a most pleasant experience to extend congratulations to the class of 1964 on behalf of the members of the Hampton Family. I have been well aware of your progress, as you entered Hampton Institute in September 1960, which was also my first year. You have participated actively in the progressive programs that have been instituted at our home by the sea . This has been a part of your educational training. You are leaving Hampton Institute at an interesting period. The demands of the citizenry for human dignity and equality of opportunity have caused our nation to redefine its patterns and practices in human relations. You will be expected to assume a responsibility in this changing social order as mature citizens. The manner in which you play your role will have national and international significance. Your success will be a means of measuring the effectiveness of the Hampton Insti¬ tute Program. I extend to you, on behalf of the Hampton Family, best wishes as you leave this citadel of learning.
