The 1961 HAMPTONIAN, done by a faithful few, is the product of many countless hours. We have endeavored to produce a new and different HAMP¬ TONIAN. Our success can only be measured through your personal in¬ terpretation of the ideas we have tried to express. In this book of memories we have attempted to capture the emotions felt by the members of the Hampton family. We are hoping that all of the things presented here will represent an atmosphere of learning that will inspire our student body to achieve religiously, socially, and intellectually. Here in our HAMPTONIAN lie the events that are now mere memories, and it is our purpose to preserve them. Our HAMPTONIAN is the only tangible memory we have of this year of laughter, sorrow, and much hard work. Yet, there will be benefits from all of these things. As time passes, the editors and staff hope you will enjoy recalling memor¬ able events from a year well spent. Sandra Frye Editor
