Under the direction of Mr. Jay Wood the Sci- ence Department offers many basic and ad- vanced courses. The fundamental courses are biology, health, and safety, physics, and chemistry. For scientifically inclined students there are accelerated classes. The study of Science can hold answers to many problems. The study habits of the Science Department includes experimentation and taking notes in class. Science

Miss Thiel uses her experience to teach her students the proper procedure in sewing. Home-Ec The Home-Economics department is headed by Miss Georgie Thiel and Mrs. Martha Hugus. In clothing I, stu- dents learn the basic fundamentals of clothing construction and good grooming. In Clothing 2 and 3 these skills are applied in making suits and dresses for any occasion. Foods classes teach the basic arts of cooking and nutrition. There are also classes offering the study and functions of certain ingredients and experimental cooking. This year the Home- maker of the Year award went to Miss Connie Brazina. Students complete many projects in cooking class.
