Commencement After four wonderful years of work and play, tears and laughter, and victory and defeat, Hammond High seniors find them- selves at Baccalaureate Services and finally at Commencement Exercises. Whether or not they realize it, the crossroad in their lives has now overcome them, and they will likely all go their separate ways. In years to come, no matter where they are or how successful they are, the ’65 graduating class will never forget those great four years at Hammond High.

Oriental Splendor Prom Ken Lawson and Susan Lloyd (at the right) watch as Dave Munster helps Kathy McCain out of the car before they enter the 1965 Prom. The civic center was transformed into a fantasy of oriental splendor at the 65 Prom. Juniors worked during the months of April and May making murals, flowers, tea houses, gardens, and other decorations. Committees and subc ommittees were formed; the junior students could have been found busily working and building in the civic center on the last two days. A feeling of great accomplishment filled their minds as they finally finished their work. The Grand March ended the 1964 Prom “Moonlight Moments which was perfect with over 200 couples participating.
