A program entitled Potential Careers in Engi- neering: Mathematics, Science, Biology, Physics, Chemistry, Economics-part of the vocational guidance program at Hammond High, Represen- tatives from the above fields spoke to the science, math and economics classes to inform the students of the possible careers available to them. Auditorium sessions were also presented to introduce the vvhole student body to the dit- ferent vocations. This program started at Hammond High tour years ago and has steadily developed from one night meetings to classroom presentations. Dr. Peter Klein and Dr. Robert Swick from the Argonne Nas tional Laboratory told biology students about their work and the opportunities in the field of biological and medical research.

Winners in the physics division were Jack Wolfe, Norm Chappelle, Fred Davis, Larry Thornton, and Tom Rainford. Carole Kelly, Bill Bean, Jackie Bruno, Barbara Wheeler, Liz Doyle, and Helen Rosbolt placed in the chemistry division. ln the electronics division Ron Delency, Wayne Mclntyre, Ted Miofsky, and Tom Rose won. Honors in the biology division were taken by Janice Ratter, Joy Lowe, Marcia Vergin, Donna Anglin, John Monberg, Diane Snyder, and Diane Seglin. Ronald Delency, Sophomore, explains the principles of his proiect Radio Controlled Nautilus to Larry Thornton and Fred Davis. Senior, Carole Kelly, shows her pro ect Fractional Distillation to Li Doyle. AE Jack Wolfe, senioi stands by his prize winning project Con plex Telescope.
