Hill, the SENATE regulates and plans many school functions. The officers of the organization were .Karnes McCullough. presidentg Mary Goff, recorder: Tom Alt. parliamentarian. In l9Z3 the Senate was organived under the Constitution of Hammond High School. The Mardis Gras. Asso- ciation Week. soc hops. campaigns for school spirit, and orienta- tion for new students were the chief projects of this organization. The forty-four members of the HOUSE OF REPRESENTA- TIVES were under the sponsorship of Miss Strange. The presiding officer was Charles Copple, vice-president of the Associationg recording secretary, Donna Snyderg speaker. jerry Piekfordg pai'- liamentarian. Bill Takaes. The House was originated in 1924 by .1 provision of the Constitution of the Hammond High School Association. The discussion of problems presented by the Con' stitution are taken up at regular meetings. The President of the Association, james McCullough, had charge of all the mass meetings of the Association. During Senate meetings, the President presidesg he appoints committees. Charles Copple, vice-president of the Association, replaced the president during his absence from meetings. The recorder, Mary Goff. took minutes at all meetings. She answered all correspondence concern- ing the Association and kept the records of all financial trans- ZICIIUITS.
