S PAN the language is most to the United States paper as their special able receives college Each summer several Hamline students go abroad to study the life in another country on SPAN, the Student Project for Amity Among nations. Much preparation is required by the students before they are ready to go out on their own in a country where S. Black, V. Jensen, T. Lesar FOREIG TU DENTS Foreign students add richly to the Hamline campus each year. This year we were priv- ileged to have sixteen among us. Countries represented in- clude: China, Africa, Greece, Switzerland, Israel, Southern Rhodesia, India, Korea, Aden, and Canada. Hamline students were able to become better acquainted with the foreign students at a recep- tion and dinner given in their honor in the fall. Not pic- tured are Yousuf AlAteegi, James Hsiao, Grace Broohm, Yong Chung, and Kerry Trask. unfamiliar. Upon returning the students each write a project and if this is accept- credit for their extremely worthwhile experience.

WASHINGTO SEMESTER Several students each year receive another unique kind of educational experience by going on Washington semester. Students have the oppor- tunity to observe the workings of our government first hand and thus to gain valuable background experi- ence.
