The program was sTarTed by Mr. Xavier RoberTs of Cleveland, Georgia. ln This, a baby doll ThaT was hand-made was purchased, or adopTed, for abouT 405 dollars. The doll came wiTh a birTh cerTificaTe, adopTion papers, and received a birThday card signed by Mr. RoberTs on iTs firsT birThday. The dolls were feaTured on an ediTion of NBC's Real People and have been widely accepTed around The counTry. Sherry ArmsTrong, of Kids STuff, Inc. of HamilTon, one of The adopT-a-doll agencies of This area, said, We have had a loT of Them adopTed. Lovable Of nof, The adopT-a-dolls are o popular iTem for sTudenTs To purchase, The kids jusT love Them. We even had a parTy for all of The ones ThaT have agreed To sign The adopTion papers promising To Take care of The dolls down aT The Holiday lnn. Michele Tyra, a junior, said of her doll, I like mine. l saw ThaT every one else was geTTing a doll, so I chose one also. lT's a liTTle expensive, buT lT's nice To have one.
