.aa .away Under the guidance of Mrs. Frances Gauntt, another year of Steinert oratory has come to a close. However, Steinert did its share of the talking and came out ahead. At the National For- ensic League District Tournament in March, John Cody, a jun- ior, won first place in Extemporaneous Speaking and brought home two trophies, one for Steinert and one for himself. The c1ub's president, Thomas Rossi, also won first place, but in Ora- torical Interpretation. Tom also brought home two trophies. This was a state contest and it was estimated that about three hundred New Jersey students participated. This is one example of the good speaking this club has done this year. -J 'Hu iff The Steinert Key Club is a school and com- munity service organization sponsored by the Hamilton Kiwanis Club. Throughout the year the Steinert Key Clubbers participate in many worthwhile activities. Some of this year's projects were conducted to raise funds for the Hamilton Hospital. These included two car washes and two paper drives. Other valuable activities, under the direction of Mr. Pivovarnick, the faculty advisor, in- cluded the distribution of football programs, the decorating and cleaning up after large dances, and the lining and painting of the parking lot lines.
