Heading this year's Council of elected leaders was Robert Murranka, president. Dick Bartlett served as vice- president and the secretary was Sharon Lopez. For the sixth con- secutive year Mr. Serfass served as faculty advisor. The numerous councils within the Council included the trans- portation, scrapbook, publicity, canteen, executive board, pep rally, citizenship, handbook, and exchange student committees. Some of the highlights of the year included the publication of the first Student Council manual, the activities of the state-wide Student Council Week, the school-wide contest to select a school motto, and the securing of Steinert's first foreign exchange student in April. Plans were also made to send two juniors to South America this summer. As the integral instrument of the entire student body, this year's Student Council truly enjoyed a most successful, productive year. I acuity Adrfsor IO6
