Gr: 11-6- ' Instrumental Music Under the direction of Mr. William Tronolone, our instrumental music department is filled with oppor- tunities for all. The concert band, which is shown on the activities introduction page, backs our victory shouts at football games, heralds us into assembly, and then into Spring with a magnificently profes- sional Spring Concert. The orchestra pictured, to the left, follows closely the patterns of the concert bond. The Dance Band is our favorite at Canteens and assemblies. The op- eretta calls forth its special Operetta Orchestra. And for more variety and for music typical of its name, we have Dixieland and the German Bands. For the individual, there are string quartets, clari- net quintets, saxophone duets, trumpet trios, and solos-we have them all, A phase of which we are most proud is Student conducting which provides an opportunity for all to display their talents,

We would like to thank the members of the Home Economics Department for their cooperation in this last project. We are justly proud of the fact that our school mem- bers hold more official positions in the chapter-wide COUN- cil than any other school. Jim Geltch is the Junior Repre- sentative to the Adult Board of Directors, and Dave Smith is one of the 9 members of the Eastern Area Council of the Red Cross, Dave is shown at the left with a Kentucky representative to the Council as they attended the Coun- cil meeting held in Washington, D.
