It meets twice a month. Its main purpose is to promote Art appreciation in our high school. This year, the club presented a program for the Womens' Club of Hamburg and an assembly for the students. It also furnished displays in the art room windows and in various parts of the school. The Electronics Club is open to all students of Hamburg Area High School who have an active interest in electronics and who wish to expand their knowledge and activities in the electronics field. Throughout the year, members exhibit items they have constructed, and exchange ideas on their projects. Meetings include instruction in fundamentals of electronics, instruction in techniques of circuit construction, and discussion on various topics of electronics. The advisor for this club is Mr. Feeg. ATIONAL H0 OR SUCIETY The National Honor Society is composed of members of the junior and senior classes. These members are selected in the middle of the eleventh and twelfth years. The purpose of this association is to create enthusiasm for Scholarship, to stimulate a desire to render Service, to promote worthy Leadership, and to encourage the development of Character. Bachman, Mr. Kramer,H.Correl1, Mr. Smith. The Jr. Chemist Club is open for membership to 10th, 11th, and 12th grade students. The purpose of the Club is to develope an active interest in the field of Science and to provide an opportunity to students of Hamburg Area High School to see how Chemistry is used in the world today. During the course of the year, the Jr. Chemist Club takes a monthly trip to one of the many industries or corporations throughout Berks County seeing for them- selves how science is applied. The advisors for the club are Mr. Kramer and Mr. Smith. The Photography Club is open for membership to seventh through twelvth grade pupils with a serious interest in photography. The Club not only aims at producing an active interest in photography, but also strives to improve the work of those already interested in photography. During the course of the year, the Club participates in contests and other photographic activities which round out their year. Full membership is open to 10th, 11th, and 12th grade students while the 7th, 8th, and 9th grade pupils are eligible for membership in the junior high division of the Club.
