1987-88 LlOn QUEEN Mary Sue — Who is she? Elizabeth — You know, like, I don't know.'' Mary Sue Well I do know that she is captain of the cheering squad.'' Elizabeth- Well, like you are sure?’ Mary Sue Yea, but I just can't Mary Sue and Elizabeth are talking about the new Lion Queen. In case you're all guessed out about who the new Lion Queen is; we've got the answer. Jennifer Sue John- son carries the title thj year as Lion Queen. Jenny is the daughter of Mrs. Bettiannc Jackson and Mr. bill Johnson. She is active in many different clubs, she is captain of the cheerleaders, and co-editor of the yearbook. Jenny plans to attend Baylor or Oral Koberts University and major in commercial art. LION QUEEN

Fair Week Even though the fair is not a school activity, many HhS stu- dents participated in the fair contests. The Miss Ashley County Pageant was held on Thurs- day, September 17. This year HHS had three young ladies in the pageant. Many other stu- dents participated in the fair contests. A number of stu- dents placed in the art, talent, and livestock shows. HHS is proud to claim these talented students. 16 FAIR WEEK

LION QUEEN FINALISTS Renee Carle Alicia Byrd Alicia fay Byrd is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Richard Byrd. Alicia is a mem- ber of the student council, vice presidnet of MMS and FBLA. Alicia plans to attend the University of AR at Fayetteville and her major is undecided. In her spare time she enjoys cheering for the Lions, play- ing basketball, and shopping. 18 LlOn QUEEN FinALISTS Renee Diane Carle is the daughter of Mr. Leonard Carle and Mrs. Mina Bostic. Renee is active in many different organi- zations. She is NHS president, yearbook co-editor, and student council secretary. Renee plans to attend the University of AR at Fayetteville and major in business education. She enjoys hanging out with friends, cheering for the Lions, and eat- ing Chinese food.
