Dr. Robert E. Turner is serving his second year as superinten- dent of the Hamburg Public Schools. Dr. Turner did his undergraduate work at Arkansas A M Col- lege (now the University of Arkansas at Monticello), received a master's degree at the University of Arkansas, and earned the Doctorate of Education Degree at Northeast Louisiana Universi- ty. Before assuming his present position, he had experience as a classroom teacher, coach, dean of men, and superintendent. During Dr. Turner's first year at Hamburg, the voters approved an increase in millage for the construction of a new high school complex and ground was broken at the site on November 30. Dr. Robert E. Turner Superintendent Administration 14 Mr. J. W. Hall is completing his twenty-fourth year as principal of Hamburg High School. After receiving a bachelor's degree and an army commission at Ouachita Baptist College (now Ouachita Baptist University), Mr. Hall served in the armed forces. At the end of World War II, he attended George Peabody School for Teach- ers where he received a master’s degree in school administration. Mr. Shelby Harrod Middle School Principal Mr. Harrod has a B. S. E. Degree from Arkansas A M College and a master's degree from the University of Arkansas. He came to Hamburg High School in 1955 as a teacher and coach and assumed his present position last year while con- tinuing to coach the senior basketball team. Mr. B. W. Allbritton Elementary School Principal Mr. Allbritton has been principal of the elemen- tary school since 1957. He is a graduate of Del- ta State College and has a master's degree from the University of Mississippi. He has done addi- tional graduate work at the University of Arkan- sas and the University of Mississippi.
