9 + + 9 4 ? +t --- ■- ............ 9 7- 548 In 1936 a new first grade was enrolled in Hamburg public schools. Now. twelve years later 21 of the originals and 15 others make up the illustrious Seniors of 1947-48. In the ninth grade Mrs. Bankston was sponsor. In the tenth, Mrs. Richard Gulledge sponsored them, and they finished the year’s activities with a hay-ride wiener roast combined. They made the trip to the Boy Scout Cabin in a hay wagon pulled by Joe Well’s tractor. In their Junior year, Mrs. Bankston again sponsored them. They gave a play, Tomas Shelton’s Ghost , and at the end of a year they gave a very successful Jr.-Sr. Banquet. The last year, always the best, began with Mr. Clark as sponsor, and when he left they were left also, without a sponsor. They gave Mr. Clark a farewell party in the gym, and presented him with a Sheaffer pen and pencil set. They were happy when Mr. Lawson became their sponsor at mid- term, and look forward to a successful Senior play, project and trips. Their donation to the school was a new trophy case.
