Our willing and able leaders It was a pleasure to welcome our new Super- intendent, Mr. Hatten, to the Hamburg Central High District this year. To step into a superintend- ent's position, especially at mid-term, was a large undertaking, but Mr. Hatten has made the adjust- ment very successfully. Mr. Hatten Superintendent? Gffice In the short time he has been here, Mr. Hatten has grown to be as much a part of our school as we are. The Class of 1957 wishes him continued success and happiness in his position as leader of our alma mater. Board of Education The Board of Education sets the policies of our school and keeps it running smoothly and cooperatively as an educational unit. Mr. Draudt, the President, and this group of seven men elected by the community give generously of their time and effort to serve on this board. Much credit for Hamburg's outstanding position among the school systems of New York State should be attributed to the work of our Board of Education. Mr. Va nderhoef Mr. Vanderhoef, as our Superintendent of Schools, has seen the Hamburg school system expand and change for sixteen years. During his administration, two large building projects were undertaken. First came a new grade schoolg then, a much-needed high school. Throughout this development, he has encouraged new school activities and kept the many departments running smoothly. The students of Hamburg High will always be grateful for his many years of dedicated service to our school. 5 Mr. Vanderhoef
