New ideas, projects, programs, and a new school have been in the toreground. However, the most important addition has been the toreign student exchange program. F' ur hundred and torty toreign students are pres ntly attending high schools throughout the Unit d States. Several ot these are in area schools. Here in Hamburg the exchange program has mate ialized in the person ot Herbert-Dieter Nut- boh . Herb has titted in at Hamburg with great ease and through his stay has become acquainted with our ways. Herb's mannerisms and especially his xpressions have rubbed ott on us. Always ready with a tunny expression or light bit ot humor, Herb's biggest asset has been his ability to laugh at himselt. His serious side, though not as otten seen, shows Herb to be a tine young man ot whom Germany can justly be proud. For us to have met and lcnown Herb has made us realize that toreign young people are very real and human just as we are. They have the same worries and problems, thinlc the same thoughts, and do the same things we do. All this has helped us to appreciate our world neighbors and strengthen our understanding ot them. What Herb has given us is doubtlessly more valuable than we can now realize, and we hope sincerely that the exchange program will continue in the coming years.
