Hildegarde's efforts to get a date to prom resulted in her fathers being called a drunkard, her parents love letters being distribute to the ' ' ' the neighborhood, and her father's almost losing his job. When she finally did get her date, it was with only boy in school who wore knickers. The audience found the play amusing and delightful and the seniors felt rewarded.
