C- J. L. AKHIDGE B.S.. S.W.T.S.C. Dear Students. One of the biggest problems of your life is the selection of a vocation. The selection of a vocation to which you are mentally and physic- ally adapted, may mean the difference between success and failure. Realizing this fact. the Hallettsville Rotary Club organized and sponsored a vocational guid- ance program for the seniors of our high school this spring. This worth-while project is probably the beginning of a fulltime guidance program for every individual in our school. The whole heart of a guidance program is to help the pupil to choose. prepare for. and find his place in the field into which he fits best. If this can be accomplished, it will lead you to happiness and successful living. My sincere desire is for each of you to receive great benefits from a program of this type and thereby help build for your future. grains.

Dear Students: Although our school did not have its largest enroll- ment during the year 1948-49, I am sure the quality of the students more than made up for the lack of numbers in every way. The improvement in attitude, school spirit, and quality of work has been very noticeable the past few years. While the footbalf team was the best in the history of the school and won the regional, I think the entire student body has won the regional in every phase of student life. While only a few boys were directly concerned in making the football record, each student in the school is to be commended for the fine record shown by the student body as a whole in scholastic attainment, discipline, and school spirit.
