K h . i9 ...- Surprisel They're all together. Zudents Find M uch Variegf In Assemblies Assemblies this year ranged from inspi- rational to well-spirited. They provided the student body a chance to assemble as one group. The Thanksgiving assembly reached a climax when the Hallmarks and the band performed an arrangement of The Battle Hymn of the Republic. The arrangement was well received. Both the choir and the band performed again in the Christmas assembly. Pep assemblies had a different perspec- tive. There was an excitement from the balcony that inspired the iuniors and sen- iors. The sophomores came to Hall with the pep that was needed to make the audi- ences come alive. lt worked, andthe pep assemblies became spirited for the first time in three years. ...JV That's another mark against her. H azel Rei gns S Queen O Homecoming Hazel Becker was crowned Hall's six- teenth Homecoming Queen in a ceremony preceding the Warriors' 23-O victory over the El Dorado Wildcats, November 22, at Quigley Stadium. The football team nominated thirty girls for the court who were then voted on by the student body. The fifteen finalists were presented to the students in an assembly the morning of the Homecoming game by members of the football team. Escorted by Arthur Pruitt, student body vice-president, and Paul Doramus, senior class president, Queen Hazel was crowned by Mr. Weldon Faulk, principal, and presented a bouquet by student body president, Kenneth Baker. Other members of the court were escorted by members of the Key Club. Senior members of the court were Donna Kirkpatrick, Lynn Lusby, Laura Bur- ford, .loan Hogg, Sundra Pigg, Felicia Car- rigan, Joyce Harris, and Kathy Moore. Juniors included Hazel Cummins, Debo- rah Brown, and Carol Warner. Sopho- mores were Julie Dillahunty, Valerie Fells, Melba Palmer, and Terri Scott.
