(Contents ADMINISTRATION A school is no better than the people who are responsible for the efficient operation of the school. These are the people who chart the policies of HCHS. CLASSES These are the reasons for the school, indeed for this year¬ book. From Seniors, ready to embark on new ventures, to the Eighth Graders, still new to the idea of high school education—all are important. ATHLETICS Giving the student body a feeling of school spirit, pro¬ viding for the important role of competitiv e competi¬ tion—these are our athletic activities—important to the overall development of our school. ACTIVITIES No school is complete without the organizations which give impetus to special activities and special interests. ejt)edicci tion This first yearbook of Halifax County High School is dedicated to the man who has dedicated himself to the service of others. This he has done with sincerity—a sin¬ cerity that breeds confidence and respect. With a philosophy that speaks of faith, hope, and charity, he believes in the worth of the individual, he sees no problem without a solution, and he is filled with the disposition to think well of others. Faced with every conceivable problem in school ad¬ ministration, he has proved his greatness. The students here offer this dedication, inadequate and cumbersome though it is, to express this truth: We are deeply thank¬ ful that J. Marshall Swanson is our principal.
