ROBERT P. COMMANDER, USN Commander Robert P. GLOVER,fa native of Manhasset Long Island, New York, graduated from the United States Naval Academy in June 1961. ' ' ' . , Commander GLOVER's first duty assignment was aboard USS FRED T. BERRY QDD-8585, homeported in Newport, Rhode Island, serving until September 1962, when ordered to the Naval Submarine School in Groton, Connecticut. Ensuing duty' from 1963 to 1967 included tours aboard USS PICUDA QSS-3821 and USS ATULE QSS-4035, bothhomeported in Key West, Florida. In February 1967, Commander GLOVER reported to the Staff of the Naval Submarine School where he served as Administrative Assistant to the Director of the Basic Officer's Department. From January 1969 through November 1971, Commander GLOVER served as.Operations Officer and Navigator aboard USS TRUMPETFISH QSS-4255, homeported in Charleston, South Carolina. Duty as Executive Officer of, USSQTUSK QSS-4265 followed until September 1973 when TUSK was turned over to the Republics of China. Following ten months of instruction at the Defense Instelligence School in Washington D. C., Commander GLOVER 'served as the Submarine Advisor with the Joint United States Military Mission for Aid to Turkey, from August 1974 through February 1977. After various schools, Commander GLOVER reported in July 1977 as Executive Officer, USS CONCORD QAFS-55, homeported in Norfolk, Virginia. Detached in August 1979, Commander GLOVER was ordered to relieve as Commanding Officer, USS HALEAKALA QAE-255 in December 1979. - Commander GLOVER is married to the former Susan Ann SILVEIRA of Fairhaven, Massachusetts. They have five children: John-16, Robert Jr. 15, Michael 14, Katherine 10, and Andrew 3, and 'currently reside in Virginia Beach, Virginia. Commander GLOVER's awards and decorations include the Navy Achievement Medal with Gold Star, the Navy Expeditionary Medal and National Defense Medal. '-
