Bags' State Girls' State lt was called an experiment in politics. Experimenting to see if a wild bunch of high school seniors could learn American politics in one week. We attended government classes and lectures and ran for some Micky Mouse office that we had to write down to remember. But we learned what it took to run and what it took to win. While hundreds of Girls' Staters were tearing their hair trying to find some guys in Stillwater, all those Boys' Staters were going to play Rate-a-chick in Talequah. After we left we felt America wasn't quite the same. We learned somethingf we weren't sure what. But if the Stars and Stripes could send shivers up our spines now, that was something new. l l l Joe Reese, Shelly Schumacher, Mary Ann Gurkowski, Lynn Seaton. 19
