We have become neighbors so suddenly ThaT Turmoil and unresT have resulTed. There is greaT dif- TiculTy in reconciling language, racial and culTural barriers. The Toregoing pose The greaTesT challenge To The coming generaTion. We meeT The challenge by learning abouT people in oTher lands anid by Trying To undersTand Them. Our aim is To desTroy misun- dersTanding which keeps us Trom living aT peace wiTh our Tellow men. The American Field Service program was born so ThaT we mighT develop beTTer undersTanding Through an exchange oT sTudenTs wiTh a resulTanT exchange oT culTures. l-lere on The local level, Through American Field Service, young people are preparing To live in Tomorrow's world. We saluTe The sTudenTs' eTTorTs and The guidance oT The adulTs who have assisTed in This program aT NaThan l-lale High School. When The Torces oT unresT are subdued, iT is my hope ThaT American Field Service advocaTes will have received meriTed recogniTion.
