We have senf l'lale sfudenfs fo Germany and Bra- zil. Nexf year we hope fo have fwo sfudenfs from abroad. The picfure on fhis page of Urs and his Amer- ican friends, all holding flags of Unifed Nafions members, symboliz- es fhis school's faifh in fhe aims of fhe American Field Service-friend- ship and increased undersfanding among all fhe peoples of fhe world. Today, fhe American Field Ser- vice brings sfudenfs from more fhan fiffy counfries fo affend American secondary schools for a year of sfudy and experience. Under fhe auspices of fhe Americans Abroad Program, a division of AFS, Amer- ican feen-agers from nearly evefy sfafe are senf abroad fo live wifh families and affend schools in some fhirfy counfries. The sfudenfs range in age from sixfeen fo eighfeen, a period when fhey are fhe mosf adapfable, open-minded, and eager fo learn. They have been carefully screened for personalify as well as for infelligence, in order fhaf fhey be well qualified fo make fheir expe- rience abroad worfhwhile for fhem- selves and for fhose wifh whom fhey come in confacf.
