X PICK A DILLY Young Rod Benedict will inherit a fortune from his late uncle, Jason Strong, pro- viding he marries one of the three Dilly sisters, April Violet, May Lily or June Rose, qTheir father was Jason Strong's war buddy,j However, if all the girls refuse Rod 's pro- posal, he'll still get most of the fortune, Now Rod does not want to settle down to mar- ried bliss until he is at least thirty so he disguises himself as an illiterate boorish, wild- and woolly cowpoke, thereby hoping any and all of the Dilly sisters will refuse to mar- ry him. The girls are horrified at his crude actions but promise their martyr-mamma that the sister Rod chooses will sacrifice herself for the good of the family, Everything comes to a thrilling climax when Old Betsy, the Horrendous Hag, enlivens proceedings to the point of hysteria and Azariah Coffin, the Mad Mortician, starts trying to em- balm live people. SENIOR CLASS PLAY W fi THE SKELETON WALKS The plot is laid in a lonely old house situated on a small island connected to the mainland by only one bridge, To this deserted place come Elaine Blair, her lawyer- fiance, and her mother to look over the property which Elaine has inherited at her uncle's death, To their surprise they find the house in the possession of a suave and mysterious physician, Dr, F ersig by name, his sinister housekeeper, and her deaf-mute son. The old house is worthless, but both Elaine and Dr, Fersig know that a large svn of money is secreted somewhere on the premises, Thinking the visitors have left the island, and wanting to search for the money unmolested, Dr, Fersig directs the deaf- mute to blow up the bridge, But to his chagrin they return, having stopped at an old well on the island to eat a picnic supper, Because the bridge is destroyed they decide to spend the night in the old house, And now things begin to happen, Strange, ethereal noises are heard, A skeleton walks through the dim shadows of the house, Elaine suddenly disappears, Bill, her fiance makes a strange discovery, And at the end comes the big surprise, DAISY DAZE The Junior-Senior Banquet and Prom was held on April 19, 1969, The evening started with the Banquet at 6:00, The music for the following dance was provided by the Purple Haze from Oxford, Nebraska, The theme was Daisy Daze and the gym was decorated in pink and green, The Seniors enjoyed The evening very much and we really want to thank the I un- iors and their mothers for all the work they went to to make us a wonderful Prom, xo , , 5- L. ,X ,2- , f ' 1 , The 1969 Athletic Banquet was held on May 10, 1969, in the Lutheran Church basement, The theme was Go Down The Wishing Road, and the colors were two shades of green and pink, In the center of the room was a wishing well flanked by all the trophies won this year, The meal started at 6:30 p,m, The menu consisted of roast beef, mashed pota- toes and gravy, peas, jell-o salad, and strawberry shortcake, The program started with a welcome from Jackie Maupin followed by a response from Duane Flamig, Sylvia Flamig and Gayle Douglass sang Wish Me A Rainbow, Mr, Ambrosek gave the prayer, The meal was served by the Lutheran women, Fol- lowing the meal Mr, Robert Tischendorf from Venango gave a short speech, Miss Brunkhardt, Mr, Terry, Mr, Keeney, and Mr, Ambrosek presented the awards, Everyone seemed to have a very enjoyable time! in V 4 GRADUATION On Thursday, May 15, eleven seniors graduated from Haigler High School, The class motto being Today is the First Day of the Rest of Your Life, and class colors turquoise and white with the class flower the yellow rose, The mixed chorus presented two numbers, Praise We the Name of the Lord and The Exodus Song, The salutatory was given by Sally Daniels and the valedictory by Duane Flarnig.
