Q Congratulations to the Eagle Staff and its To the Seniors of '67, may the days you have spent at HHS live always in your fondest memories. May the future be one of happiness and no matter how difficult the future may be, the never give up spirit of your school will carry you to greater heights. Class History In the year nineteen hundred sixty three, sixteen freshmen entered Haigler High. They were Mike Broad, Linda Carlock, John Church, Howard Clark, Janet Clegg, Myrna Collicott, Ardis Crouse, Pam Crouse, Peggy Daniels, Sherri Faylor, Mark McVey, Tom Pearson, Jamie Smith, Melvin Smith, Sharon Williams, and Shirley Williams. The Seniors cruelly led us through Freshman Initiation. We lost Mike Broad, Sherri Faylor, and Pam in our sophomore year, but gained Gary Myer, Aaron Irwin, and Charles Pihlgren. Right before Christmas vacation in our Junior year we finally received our class rings. After having to postpone our class play two times we gave Tune In On Terror on December 3. On April 29, we honored the Seniors with the Junior-Senior Banquet and Prom. The theme was In the Misty Moonlight. Hadley Barrett and his orchestra provided music for our dance. Then the day came when we were Seniors. We initiated 19 green and humble Freshmen into the halls of H. H. S. March 31 we presented our Senior Class Play, They Went Thataway.' On April 6 we left for our sneak to Peaceful Valley, Colorado, where we spent three wonderful days in the mountains. After being forced to leave we returned and on May 29 the Juniors hon- ored us with their Junior-Senior Banquet and Prom, Moon1ight and Roses . We danced to the music of Benedict Arnold and the Traitors. Baccalaureate services were held on May 7, in the Methodist Church. Commencement was held May 10 in the school auditorium. The Haigler Legion led the parade as it proceeded through the streets and downtown and back up main street. The cheer- leaders led several cheers on main street and the band played at the intersection. The judges for the parade floats were Mrs. Dorothy McKay, Mr. Forrest Scrivner, and Mrs. Belle MacGregor. That evening a large crowd came to watch the game between Madrid and Haigler. At half-time of the game, Gayle Blank, Homepoming Queen of 1965, crowned Mark McVey Homecoming King of 1966. Linda Carlock was crowned Homecoming Queen of 1966. Second attendants were Peggy Dan- iels and Gary Myer, and third attendants were Janet Clegg and Tom Pearson. Also at half-time, winners for the parade floats were announced. The Fresh- man Class took third prize, the Fifth and Sixth Grades took second place, and first place went to the Sophomore Class with their slogan, They'll Be A Pushover. Following the football game, the High School gymnasium was the scene for the Homecoming Dance. The theme for the occasion was Football Heaven, 1966. The royalty and the attendants were presented their gifts carried on pillows by Ti Schliep and Steve Akey to the royal throne. The dance progressed with music provided by Hadley Bar- rett and his orchestra until 1:00 A.M. when the Homecoming festivities came to a close.
