The team consist- ed of 56 swimmers and 8 divers, marking the biggest team in Gunn's history. The Varsity girls, led by All-Americans senior Caroline Bethke and junior Jennifer Pratt, came in second in the league upsetting Los Altos by 1 point,'However they were unable to match the dominance of Santa Claraka team coach Little calls the best in Northern California. The Frosh-Soph team had a perfect season finishing first in the league by defeating Paly 443-214. Coach Liftleftiescribes the Frosh-soph team as being the best ever with girls that could've made the Varsity team at any other school. The divers were also very successful this season finishing undefeated and first in the league, In the S.C.V.A.L. finals Helga Brown placed first, Karen Grove, fourth, and Pam Raynakg fifth. Lissa Bethke and Katie Chalberg placed first and second respectively for the Junior-Varsity.
