Standing: Coach Sharon Poff, Delphi Karras, Susan Tsunoda, Monika Jerebek, Liz Peters, Klm Siegmund, Theresa Peters, Kelly Collin, Dianne Scott. ' This years girl's J,V. basketball team, led by captain Theresa Peters and Danette Vercher, came one game short of the S.C.V.A.L. cham- pionship title. With a wln loss record of 11-3, it is easy to see that it was a successful season for Coach Sharon Poff and her J.V.'s. Although next year many sophomores will be leaving to contribute to the varsity squad, many exper- ienced freshmen make the 82-83 season some' thing to look forward to. . A is i It was a successful but frustrating season for the Titan Varsity. Hopes were high after last year's quarter final finish in CCS, but early injuries to all-Peninsula stopper Mike Blanchette and midfielder Paul Anderson left a gap at midfield. Goalkeeper Chris Wilde and winger Mike Foy both played the entire season in knee braces and other injuries and illnesses took their toll, so that the final season record was 14-7 with one tie. The Titans win over previously undefeated league champion Santa Clara l2-Ol in their final match proved their potential and brightened prospects for next season. Standouts this season were Paul Edwards, a unanimous all-league choice in mid- fieldg Dave Daniels, our spectacular center forwardg and second team all-league defenders Brett Carlson and Roger 'lBig Ro Campbell. Coach Cooper was quoted, Every single man on the squad was a strong contributor and l'm very proud of them all. r
