Missing from picture, Louie Weady 7 Manager. BASKETBALL The Guilford Indians started the season with the hope of a successful campaign. The lack of height on the team was more than compensated for by the team's courage and spirit. They played each game with enthusiasm and high spirits. Their coach, Mr. Sabo, showed them many new plays during their long hours of practice. The win column of just two games does not paint a true picture, there were many exciting and well-played games. Edwin Tichy was chosen captain of the squad and he proved invaluable to both the coach and the team. The four senior members who have played their last season are: Edwin Tichy, Warren Roberts, Stewart Putney and Fred Moore. 52

GIRLS BASKETBALL The Guilford High Girls' Basketball team enjoyed a season better than that of last year with a .500 average of three wins and three losses. Their biggest victory was the game against Old Lyme, where the girls, looking great in their new uniforms, really tromped 'emf' The score was twenty-six to three. The Seniors on the team were Marie Bitt- ner and Joanne Kintz. Joanne, this year, filled her second season as a most capable team captain. Next season should also be a successful one with only two Seniors, Joanne and Marie, leaving the team. The girls feel that a good portion of their success is due to Mrs. Napoli who, new to Guilford this year, did a fine job of coach- ing the team. MHIIC Joanne
