ENGLISH The World Literature class, initiated last year, was a proven success judging from the increased enroll¬ ment of students who read and analyzed great lit¬ erary works. The mechanics of good English, along with the study of literature formed the basis of English I-IV. Developmental and speed reading instruction was continued; Business Communications was incorpor¬ ated into the English IV course. Drama and Public Speaking developed the confidence needed to speak and perform before an audience. The over-all English program stressed the need of the ability to speak, read, and write well as an in¬ tegral part of every student’s activities, no matter where his interests lay.
