'151 THE SENIORIAN two games to Lincoln and two more to Berlin Xs the season went on Xlexrlll got over the mumps Beaton was eligible again and Iommx Platt s broken lingers healed The league schedule started and C H 9 found itself The boys only dropped one league game and that was to a smooth working Littleton team on our own floor XX e defeated I ancaster at Lancaster for the hrst time in twelve years and defeated XX hlte field Lisbon Lancaster and XX oodsvllle twice Our last league game was w1th XX hlte field and by winning it we became the XX hite Xlountaln Ieague Champions for the second time in the last three years The team was chosen to go to Durh im to compete in the State Iournament and lost to L harlestown in their hrst game 16 13 Ihe bovs played twenty three games and lost onlx hve completing a verx successful seige of basketball Class basketball this year was well attended and there were some xerv good games The Senior Boys team was undefeated and clearly showed their supremacy over the Sophomores and Juniors The Qenior High Lhamplonship was won by the Qophomores They had a good boss team and an exceptionally good girls team beaten the Eighth grade ln a very hard fought game Inach wear class basketball reveals to us much promising material which will soon be varsity and will do much to keep G H 9 ID its place at the top of the XX hite Xlountaln League We have a fourteen game schedule in baseball and our Loach has a squad of thirty men on the field The prospects for a successful season seem excellent A this book goes to press we feel very confident of having another XX hlte 'XIounta1n League Championship before school closes in june From this brief resume we can see that Groveton has a right to be proud of her high school athletic teams for the vear 1931 Questions Where does the light go when it goes out?
