Riley, The Student Council, composed of twenty-f1ve mem- bers representing the four classes and other campus governing bodies, acts as a liaison between the student body and the faculty. Its purpose is to foster under- standing and cooperation between the two groups and to serve as an efficient governor of undergraduate af- fairs. The Council is in charge of freshman orientation, Homecoming, the annual Jazz Concert, May Day, the All-College Weekend and the annual Ugly Man Con- test for the benefit of the World University Service. The Council also has the power to review student com- plants, to recommend any movement to better college life, and to assist the administration in directing the student body.

Robeson. 2nd Row: J. en's overning Board thletic Council The Athletic Council endeavors to at- tain and maintain a high level of school spirit and to increase participation in school functions and recreational activi- ties by sponsoring Co-Rec nights, Migra- tion Days and various play days. The council consists of four seniors, three juniors, two sophomores, one freshman and the presidents of Varsity GH and Women's Athletic Association. The Ath- letic Council serves as a link between the Director of Athletics and the student body. Ames, R. Allen, B. Moore, J. Mentzer, K. George, D. Campbell, W. Dunlavey, K. Curry. In fulfillment of their primary objective of maintaining harmoni- ous living conditions among the male student body, the Men's Gov- erning Board carries out improvement projects in the dormitories and tries cases in a judicial court to lighten the load of cases that must be presented to the administration.
