We are all very grateful to him for all that he has done both for us as individuals and for the college as a Whole. Both he and Mrs. Harker have shown their great interest and devotion to Grove City College through the many extra things they do for its students, faculty, and organizations. With the highest enrollment in the history of the college, Dr. Harker successfully dealt with such problems as the need for additional faculty members. Through his fine alumni Work, he has increased interest in the future of the college. Our deepest thanks go to Dr. Harker for an- other fine year. Praises from each son and daughter . . . L 1 Board uf Trustees Much of the success and progress of Grove City College can be attributed to the Board of Trustees. It is they who large- ly determine the general policies of the College. It is through their vision, leader- ship, devotion, and generous support that we have such' excellent facilities and such a beautiful campus. The Board as a whole meets twice a year while the Various corn- mittees meet at their discretion. During the past year, the Board suffered the loss of Trustee Emeritus William H. Burch- field. Douglas James was named alumni trustee in his place. Again this year the Board was under the leadership of Mr. J. Howard Pew, Grove City College Class of 1900. Mr. J. Four memorable years ago, we, as frightened, eager freshmen, embarked upon this campus. Now the day for which we have been striving is approaching. As we recall the experiences of our college days, we remember many changes. Dr. Harker was inaugurated as president of our college the same year we began our college ca- reers. We were the last class to participate in i Freshmen traditions, and we all watched the rais- , ing of our new classroom building, Calderwood Hall. We have now grown to maturity. We look H- forward to fulfilling the ideals and ambitions which have been instilled in us as we face the future, richer for our college experiences. l Yes, I'm majoring in Gedunkf' 7w AW fav, fvf Qemwfmr., The Seniors meet to iron out difficulties. It has enabled us to receive two years of excellent secretarial training while experiencing actual college living. Our courses have included typing, shorthand, business correspondence, busi- ness law, secretarial accounting, oflice practice and oflice procedure. Those of us who will be grad- uated in 1960 are the last to complete this course here at Grove City. i Keep those files straight. IU 1011 W CLASS We as juniors have come to the end of another active and enjoyable year at Grove City College. A number of our classmates served as junior coun- selors this year in the freshman girls' dormitory. The new program has proved to be a great success. Under the Big Top we presented the annual junior-Senior Prom, complete with barker, clowns, and free refreshments. Everyone enjoyed dancing to the music of the Buddy james Or- chestra. Our big project for the year was the 1960 OUIJA. Many long hours were spent by the staff in the Ouija office attempting to meet dead- lines. We sincerely hope that the book meets with the approval of the entire student body. As the year draws to a close, we are anxiously awaiting the future with h ing senior year. opes of a successful and reward- . ,I . One of our first aims was sighted by our president when he led a rousing campaign for more class support of athletic events. During second semester we spon- sored 'Leap Week, which is an annual freshman class responsibility. We also organized our class dance which was at huge success. A unique func- tion of our class this year was the taffy pull which proved to be fun for all.
