D orothy Doerr Treasurer . . .Evelyn Hansen Under the direction of Oscar A. Cooper, the C-rove City College Chapel Choir not only participates in the Sunday vesper services but also presents a Christmas concert, an Easter concert, and provides music for Religious Emphasis Week, Bacculaureate, and Commencement. Membership in the choir is voluntary. This year has seen one of the largest enrollments in its history, members of all classes represented. lt functions as an organization with officers, dues, and constitution. A banquet is planned in the spring as the culmination of a successful year. The assistance of Stanley J. Seiple, College organist and accompanist for the Choir, and the co-operation and spirit of its members has made the Chapel Choir one of the most successful and active organizations on the campus. Virginio Schutt For half a century the Schubert Club has presented musical programs on the college campus. Members have benefited by listening to others and by taking part in the program themselves. Each Tuesday members meet for a musical program in Crawford Hall. This includes both instrumental and vocal music, as well as reports given weekly on subjects which pertain to the musical world. All members take part in the program sometime during the semester, giving them poise and assurance needed for public appearance. This year they also had an informal Christmas program, a party, and informal discussion. The faculty advisors are Miss Esther Reynolds, Professor Stanley J. Seiple, and Professor Oscar A. Cooper. The club motto is To the Best Thou Knowest Be True, and the club tries to uphold such a standard. Meetings are held every Monday night in the club room in Founder's Hall. The programs of the year have included readings, book reviews, musical programs, out- side speakers, spelling bees, and debates. During this year, Speedwell had an open meeting for freshmen girls, a Christmas party, a Valentine party, and other various activities. The work of the club, how- ever, has been mostly of a literary nature. Page Fifty-:even
