PIQESIDENTS MESSAGE GREE'r1Nos: I am glad to accept the invitation of the editors of the Ouija to use its pages to bring a greeting to the students of the college. I wish to express my congratulations on the achievements of the year that is now drawing to a close, and to express my gratitude for the spirit that has been manifested throughout the year. In the past year, the attendance has been the largest in its history. In the larger community, there is a new emphasis on the importance of cooperative living. There are new opportunities and correspond- ingly greater responsibilities. The year has been one which has been marked by notable advances not only in enrollment, but, also, in the growth and improvement of the physical plant of the College. The construction of the Mary Anderson Pew Dormitory, the addition to the Isaac C. Ketler Dormi- tory, the building of the Overlook Wall and the improvement of the campus have all been indications of growth. They are, also, expres- sions of the magnihcent generosity of the friends of the College. It is our task to show our appreciation by taking larger advantage of our opportunities and living life on a higher level. The close of the year inevitably means some of our number are leaving the College and entering new Helds of activity. Our good wishes go with them. And I hope that those who return next year will hnd in the College an avenue to a larger life and a more useful service. Sincerely yours, OF PROGRESS -5-
