Our courses in Auto Shop, Woodshop, Metal Shops, and Mechanical Drawing stimu- late coordination of mind and body through instructive tool processes. By studying and ex- ploring these shops, our students broaden their general education, develop hobbies and discover vo- cational aptitudes that prepare them for successful living and better citizenship.

Wilt-on Mr. William Carden Miss Edith Curry Mr. Robert Fielder Mr. John Steele The Music Department at Grossmont offers outstanding training in both Vocal and Instrumental fields Among the major performing units are the Red Robe Choir and the Blue and Gold Band This year the band captured the Sweep stakes at Long Beach Band Review for the third time Gross mont is the first high school to win this honor The Red Robe Choir added to its busy season a tour to the Imperial Valley High Schools Every year the Choir and Band enter the Southern California Music Festival held at various educa tional centers in Southern California This year the Choir sang at Redlands University and the Band played at Pomona College Festival Our Music Department offers excellent opportunities for small ensembles quartets and individual units and sets a high standard of musical achievement in class work The high caliber of achievement throughout the whole department is evident in the Spring Concert annually presented to the student body and the public Through its responsibility to keep up with the very latest in the scientific world our Science classes represent one of our most rapidly developing depart- ments. Under the supervision of Mr. Daggs department head the following subjects are offered: Chemistry Health Drivers Education Physics and Military Science. These subjects are requisites for many college and university courses and some study in them is essential to the fullest appreciation of life itself. Many dependable futures are the result of fine training received in our Science courses. J .
