THE BIOLOGY CLUB The Biology Club, whose pur- pose is to encourage a greater in- terest in nature, during this year has sponsored such activities as Held trips to various parts of the county, lectures by local authorities, and the gathering together of specimens for its own museum. Officers are: Marion Rogers, president, Bob Crowningshield, vice presidentg Asaye Takasaki, secretary-treasurer, and Dick Grau, curator. Miss Winifred E. King is the club adviser. 1 ... THE CHEMISTRY CLUB As this club, advised by Mr. Harold G. Hughes, has no ofli- cers, each member takes equal part in the discussions and laboratory work carried on at the bi-monthly meetings. This group has made a study of the qualitative analysis of the metals. Activities particularly enjoyed by the members were a field trip and a visit to the San Diego Telephone Company's open house. An interest in chemistry is the only requirement for mem- bership. THE RADIO CLUB The Radio Club, organized for the first time this year to learn more about radio, has produced several pieces of radio equipment. At the meetings held every Tuesday most of the time is spent in work- ing on individual projects. A trip was made by the organization to the San Diego Telephone Company. Ofhcers are Frances Byrnes, presi- dent, and Douglas Inman, secre- tary-treasurer. Mr. Charles Manning is the group adviser. Twenty-nine

The qypeecfz The Speech Club, one of the most active organi- zations in Grossmont, was host this year at a number of interscholastic contests. Also several local com- petitions were held, including the annual story telling contest and the declamation preliminaries. Spanish American culture is taught by means of Spanish games and plays. Members of this club participated in a sup- per comprised exclusively of Mexican dishes.
